DETERMINATION
The year-long AVID program from 6-12 grade is an opportunity for student’s goals to be achieved while being supported and encouraged by staff and peers.
AVID Elective Course
The AVID elective course came to Bryan Station Middle School in the 2023-2024 school year and is taught by Ms. Laura Duffy. During the 23-24 school year the class is being taught as a 9 week introductory class to students in all 3 grades. This class covers an introductory to what AVID is, what the year long course will look like, beginning of AVID activities, and information about AVID’s full year elective and transition to Bryan Station High School’s full-year program. AVID elective students learn and model strategies in all content classes.
During the 2024-2025 school year, AVID best practices will support classroom strategies in all classes for all students. The AVID elective will be a yearlong application based program for students who show interest, aptitude, and initiative to advance their future goals with the aid of the AVID program.
